Hello KPS (:

I'm back from camp! If you didn't know already, some of the councilors set off on Friday for the Youth Leaders' Camp'11 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Lemme tell you this.
It. Was. Awesome. (Y)
Hahaha. Here's what happened!

Friday:
Woke up (somewhat) bright and early and bus-ed down to school. After slacking at the Hub, went to do duty before prize presentation.
Afterward, bus-ed down with the councilors to Ngee Ann! Ling Hui led us there, and endured all our crazy bus ride songs. THANKYOU (Y)
Arrived at the Loft, and went to pick a room from our luxurious 'house' with Wei Xiang. We picked the one with the view. Oooh yeah.
Then went to meet the rest of our tribe. Turned out we were assigned to the Vikings!
We live up to our name. The whole lot of us were mostly huge in size.
Including myself.
Went down to Ngee Ann itself afterward. Took a bus when it was just an overhead bridge away. Pampered kids we are!
Forgot what we did straight after that.
At the Attic of Ngee Ann Poly, we had a leadership workshop conducted by Coach Dominic from High Achievers! Tons of fun, everything. Vikings were an interesting bunch to work with!
Lunch was Botak Jones. Yumz
Then more workshops.
Basically the whole day was workshops. But damn did I learn a lot.
Of course my butt caught fire too. But hey. It was for a good cause! Haha
Dinner was at Makan Place! Ate some curry fried rice or something along that line. Wasn't full, so I bought a bowl of tau suan and bubble tea.
They make some sick tau suan. Positive kind of sick.
Then went back to wash up, before practicing for Camp Finale.
Headed back to our room. Stayed up a while and talked with Wei Xiang mah bro. Listened to some music before sleeping. He conked out effortlessly though.
Bro you gotta teach me that T-T it's a freakin' LIFE skill haha

Saturday:
Woke up feeling fat.
Washed up before heading to the tribe room and then the void deck for breakfast.
Had Macs! Wen Jing chatted with us while we ate! She's from Chinese Garden Sec. Cool right haha
Then walked over the flyover to Ngee Ann and headed to the Adventure Park, also known as Camp David.
I think.
Rock climbed and parafan-ed! Fun like mad.
Irfan climbed the same wall I did in half the time. Zzzzz. Rock on man!
Parafanning was scary. It's like literally committing suicide. With half the danger involved! WHAT A DEAL RIGHTTTTT.
Then did some trustfall exercises before heading to the low elements. Our group did the Nitrous Crossing.
Sounds like a sweet. No?
Was funz manz! I think. At least the cameraman didn't get to catch any un-nice pictures. HA.
But on a more serious note, I think that was a time when we demonstrated real unity. Even though we were from different tribes, schools, levels, and backgrounds, we didn't let that affect us. We stuck together on that extremely small piece of wood. Can you imagine? Fifty legs on that thing.
Headed back to Ngee Ann for lunch. Had nasi lemak!
Then headed for Dialogue in the Dark! WHOOOOO.
To me, that was the most interesting activity in the camp. Went in with Wei Xiang and some other people.
Some background on DiD. Basically it's like a tour around Singapore, but without the sight. In a freakin' MAZE. With a freakin' awesome GUIDE who can't see, too. Blind leading the blind? Not quite.
The guides are so familiar with the place and so sensitive to sound and stuff like that they can almost "see" you in the pitch black. That, my dear men, is amazing stuff.
Our guide was Hafiz. Turns out he's blind. :o like OHMAIGAWD. I want his autograph.
Was introduced to the people in front and behind me. I didn't really care about those in front, by the one directly in front of me was a girl named Cherilynn and Xiang was behind me.
We were led into the DiD and we met Hafiz inside. I was pretty antsy at first, 'cause I couldn't see. But Cherilynn, Hafiz and Xiang's presence was pretty reassuring.
Sat on the boat ride down Singapore River inside the DiD! Took forever to get inside the boat. Was afraid I would drop into the water and get eaten by a Ducktour or something.
After the ride, we exited the boat and walked to the middle of Orchard Road, where we crossed a street, full of cars and lorries and motorbikes and dragons and monkeys and half-crazed blind people running around in pitch darkness.
After that we stopped to touch a car and a bike. People would think stopping to touch a Mazda and an old bike's kinda crazy... But for us? It was cool.
But at somewhere around here I got a bit mad, because I let go of Cherilynn's shoulder to feel the car, only to lose BOTH Xiang and her.
Luckily the Vikings were big-sized enough to bump me every now and then (unintentionally, of course) so I wasn't really lost. Hafiz led me on from there, 'cause I was like solo-ing. I went knocking at the fake doors and answering fake phones and talking. Like to myself. This only proves how awesome I am. (Y) Three cheers for me! Hafiz had to go back and bring me to the front 'cause I was too busy smelling the potatoes at the Market. haha sorry mannnn.
Then exited the maze and talked a bit with the guys there about our experience. After finding back my specs.
This activity taught me so many things. Like how I shouldn't be complacent that I have my eyesight. And how important my other senses are.
I've learnt to appreciate voices better, too. :D
After the DiD, went on to buy some supplies for supper at Cheers!
Stopped by at the library for a little tour and a pee wee session. After relieving myself, I bought a cup of honey coffee. Adventurous me!
It actually tasted good. Yumz
Then went to Cheers, before heading back to the lunch place for some games!
After that, headed back to the attic for dinner.
Played some games there and cheered our lungs out! The SLs rewarded us with a hilarious performance. YOU GUYS ROCKKKKK!
Then headed back to our houses, washed up, rehearsed, and went back.
Had a mini tuan yuan fan with our roommates! Ate instant noodles together! HAHA.
It was awesome. \m/ Some guy to guy time. Y'know?
'Course you don't. haha okay whut
Then went to our rooms. Knocked out.

Sunday:
Woke up SHIVERING. Who ask me go blast the air-con at 17 degrees, setting the timer to like 7 hours later and tuning the fan speed to hi-power. Almost froze.
Washed up, and got down to the tribe room. Had roti prata for breakfast at the void deck.
Headed down to the Attic with the Vikings. Last day D: We were all sad.
Had another workshop with Coach Dominic, before we had some games and pizza for lunch.
After that was Camp Finale! The moment we had all been crazily preparing for! It was loads of fun. :D
At the end of the camp, there was lots of laughs, joys, tears, pains, sadness, unity, and stuff. I had a lot of fun in this camp. (: I hope we all did!
Wrote some notes to the SLs, and some tribemates, and some friends. Just to appreciate them haha.
I should make it like, a tradition. Haha
Headed to Clementi MRT by shuttle bus and then traveled home from there.

Altogether, it was a fruitful camp! All the SLs were so awesome, all the cheers were so awesome, and all the people were awesome, too. YLC'11! I'm gonna miss it. (:
Alright. Shall go and hit the sack now. Have CCA tomorrow.
