Title : (YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOU YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--)

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH \m/
I'm feeling so hyped now, even though camp's already been over for like, soooo many days. I can't believe myself... And I owe it all to YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOUYOU YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--- DIRTY BIT.
Ahem. Right.
Anyway, before I start out anything, I just wanna apologise to RHAIZAN, GERMAINE, JOLENE, PREETHIKA and SYAFIA for leaving early. Didn't mean to pangseh you guys. Had church later, that's why I kept wanting to leave. Needed to come home to prepare (:
Right. I SHALL START. Brace yourself for wordy paragraphs, baby.
To be honest, I really didn't expect much from this camp initially. To me, it's just another camp, another three-day two-night of running around, cheering, getting dirty and stinking.
But you know what? I was proved wrong (:
This camp showed me so much more about myself, my friends, and more importantly, my class. I never believed that the last two years of secondary school life would be the best ones, but from the way things look, it's gonna be more than best. It's gonna be AWESOME yo :D
Through this camp, I've learnt so many things subconsciously, and now that I'm looking back and relishing this moment, I'm picking them up one by one.
The Water Tank. The water tank is a elongated tube which is holy--- I mean, HOLE-LY with three ping pong balls inside. The aim of the game is to retrieve the ping pong balls by filling the HOLE-LY water tank with wholly water. We can only use our hands to cover the holes to prevent water from leaking out.
To me, this was the game that impacted me the most. This game made me realise that no matter how strong, one person is has only two hands, and limited strength and endurance. Without the help of other people, there is no way that the goal can be achieved.
The first time we did it, there were just four of us at the base of the tank, struggling to hold the tank fast so that the water level would rise. But we failed badly, and just got ourselves wet. But just like those (affectionately described as) crazy PMs always say, "There are no failures, only learning experiences". We managed to do it the second time, where we had almost twenty people holding and supporting each other, and another ten bringing the flawlessly constant supply of water to the tank. But the cool thing was, we never stopped encouraging one another. There were echoes of "C'mon E2", "Guys we can do this", "Don't give up", "Hold on"... I just felt like we were really united then. And that, my friend, is just plain AWESOME \m/
The Minefield. There wasn't any grand life lesson in this one though. It was just plain AWESOME (again) to roll in the mud. That stank. Whew!
Don't you just lurrrrrrve pigging out? :D
That concluded the first day of camp. There were loads of other stuff we did, but these are the coolest ones :D
Second day of camp, woke up, washed up, and did success claps. A whole whopping 700 of them. My arms died that day.
Then went on to doing an activity called Recce Patrol. Kudos to the awesome PMs who have amazing acting skills ! (Y)
After Recce Patrol, had lunch, and learnt how army language. Realised that not talking got things across better than talking. Who knew, right? Haha :D
ANYWAY.
Then went for The Great Raid. Basically our class got raided. And pwned. BUT WE WERE STILL HIGH CAN I HEAR A WHOOSAY TO THAT >:D
Hahaha, yeahhh. Then afterward went for Victory March. Our class was undoubtedly the BEST. We sang and cheered and laughed and danced and screamed and yelled and (almost got knocked down by a crazy construction truck driver who sped along the road).
I think we pwned the rest. E2 is the awesome man. Show us some lurrrrve. Tell us we rock. C'mon, you know you wanna :D
Afterward we had dinner, and PM Jing Yang said he wanted to see RHAIZAN, PEARLYN, DENISE and me. Said he wanted to ask us something about the performance.
But he lied. Oh he did.
Haha he led us down to the training shed, where we met Captain Matthew, who brought us to this other cool guy who had a funky hairstyle who told us we were in for a biiiiig thing and we could opt out if we didn't wanna do it. Nobody opted out. Bowen Sec 3'11 is too cool for that (Y)
So he told us about success, and dreams, and reaching for them and stuff, and told us to write down our dreams on a piece of paper. Then they told us to spread out.
"An average Singaporean lives up to 84 years. 84 years, minus the 15 you've already lived, is 69 years. We are going to make you stand for 69 minutes, and in this 69 minutes, you will hold the paper that has your dreams up and visualise them happening, how you would feel before and after it... Every minute stands for one year. It's up to you and your determination to last through that 69 minutes."
Big whoa. Shock of my life. Life as in that life. That life as in the minute year thing. Okay nevermind.
So all of us did what we were told. No one gave up, no one sat down, no one at all. We all persevered, even though the PMs came and discouraged us, pulled us down, crushed and tore our papers; none of us gave up.
Proud of you guys (:
For me, I thought nobody would take this seriously, so I told myself to chillax and take this as a game. But even as it started, and I began to visualise all my dreams, I just felt like breaking down. Unexplainable. Really. It was almost as though I was going through it, even though it was all in my mind.
Then around halfway through the game, PM ANDREW came. PM Andrew facilitated the Postman Walk for our class. He came behind me and looked through all my dreams and goals. And then he was like,
"You wanna become a writer and a musician. Right?"
And when he said that, I remembered all of the times when I was told to give up. So I broke down. It's kinda embarrassing, but I did.
"Justin. You want to become a writer and a musician right?"
I nodded.
"Justin listen. Remember during the Postman Walk, when you said that I gave you a 'chance' because you were wearing your specs... It doesn't matter what life throws at you, as long as you keep holding on."
Couldn't stop crying. Nodded my head. I can't remember his exact words, but he said something like,
"You're stronger than this. I've seen you in camp and I know you can do it. You've gotta work hard and achieve your goals... Don't give up."
Gourd I felt like giving him a bear hug.
Thanks man. That was all I needed (:
Rockstar that dude. \m/
Many other PMs came and encouraged me. So I decided I wouldn't let my hand down till that hour twenty was over.
Thanks PEARLYN for encouraging me :D You're always awesome yo! Remember to invite us over to paint your house :D
And I kept praying. I was like looking up to the sky (ceiling) and asking for strength.
This experience has taught me so much about so many things. I've learnt that if you really want something, you should never give up till you get it, because the darkest part of the night is the nearest to dawn.
Or something like that.
I've learnt some important things that have gave me courage and strength and wisdom and all that (: I'm thankful I got the chance to experience it (Y)
Life changinggggg. OMGGGG.
After that was a mixture of crazy cheering, awesome dancing, fail acting, fail cueing, fail lots of things but it was an awesome time :D Everyone was mad and crazy and having loads of fun (:
Had a good rest that night. Rhaizan slept reeeaaally well haha. Happy for you mah brotha! And a little envious that you could knock out so fast. :B Teach me okay! Haha.
The next day, we had breakfast, area cleaning (looking busy looking busy), parade rehearsals and so many things! But it was great, and I'm proud of 3e2'11. We're an awesome bunch, no doubt about it!
Alrights. Shall end here (: Gourd I've said so much! You have no IDEA how many days it took me to just draft this stupid post haha.
Leave a tag before you go! :D God Bless (:
Peace out babyyy!
